Lady Badgers Win Fifth In A Row

EPHRAIM - The Snow College Lady Badgers won their fifth in a row Saturday, 70-67 over rival Salt Lake Community College, to inch closer to the Lady Bruins for the top spot in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Freshman Sammie Jensen led five Lady Badgers in double figures with 14 points and 13 rebounds as Snow outrebounded SLCC 44-27 and avenged an earlier 68-67 defeat in Salt Lake City.

Freshman Jaquel Christensen from Richfield came off the bench with 17 minutes remaining and poured in 12 points and collected six rebounds to hold off the Lady Badgers.

Tara Gehring scored 12 points while Abbie Beutler and Linsey Hodgkiss each added 10.

The Lady Badgers won for the tenth time in 11 games and moved to within a game of the Lady Bruins with a 9-5 conference record (18-6 overall). SLCC still leads the league with an 11-3 record and 19-4 overall.

Next up for Snow is an important home weekend to draw even closer. First they faceoff against second place North Idaho College on Friday followed by a rematch against the College of Southern Idaho.
