LAST TIME OUT

The Snow College women's basketball team earned a pair of convincing victories over Community Christian College over the weekend to wrap up its regular-season home schedule.  The Badgers earned a 98-46 victory Friday followed by an 82-40 win Saturday in Ephraim.

Snow College had gone just 1-3 during the first four games of the season-long, six-game home stand.  The Badgers were coming off an 80-37 loss against No. 4 College of Southern Idaho Wednesday.

It was a combination of a strong offense and a potent defense in the first half against the Saints.  The Badgers outscored CCC 46-13 over the first 20 minutes of action.  The Badger's defense held the Saints to just 2-28 from the field in the first half including 0-12 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Snow College's offense shot 51 percent from the field in the first half including going 4-10 from downtown.

The Badgers extended its lead to 44 points in the third quarter before taking a 73-31 advantage into the fourth.  They would continue to cruise from there and earn the 98-46 victory.

Emmie Barnes led the charge for the Badgers as she recorded a career-high 21 points on 9-11 shooting and 2-3 from 3-point range.  Samiana Suguturaga finished in double figures with 11 points while Katie Trail also put in 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds to aid in the victory.  Marika Collins came up just short of recording a triple-double as she tallied eight points, nine assists, and seven rebounds.

Saturday's game was slightly more contested in the first half before Snow College ran away and hid for good late in the second quarter.  The Badgers led by just five points midway through the second quarter before going on a 16-2 run to take a 41-22 lead into halftime.

Snow College pulled away in the third quarter and then outscored the Saints 25-8 in the fourth quarter for good measure to earn the 82-40 victory.

Suguturaga recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Brandi White scored a career-high 22 points.  Barnes followed up her career-high Friday with 11 points and four rebounds Saturday.
