Box Score 2 Ephraim, UT --- The lady Badgers are back after a rocky conference opener against College of Southern Idaho (9/20) and Northern Idaho College (9/22) in which the team lost both matches.
As the team spent most of Homecoming week catching up on studies they sure showed their Badger Pride on the court Friday and Saturday.
FRIDAY (9/28)
USU Eastern put up a battle taking the first game 27-25, however the Lady Badgers held USU Eastern to only 15 points in the second game but fell just short again in the third game (23-25). The Lady Badgers finished off the Golden Eagles for a thrilling set win in games four and five (25-20 and 15-9 repsectively).
The Badgers had a 57% attack average with three hitters in double-digit kills. #Amy Sorenson# had a set high 17 kills, two service aces and 19.5 points, #
Taylor Castillo# put down 12 kills, and #
Nicole Koehler# was good for 10 kills. #
Kelsie Rathmann# bumped in 34 assists while #
Katie Vincent# got up for 10 blocks.
SATURDAY (9/29)
In an offensively lopsided set, the Badgers dominated Colorado Northwestern Community College in three games (25-12, 25-17, 25-16). The team collectively hit 65% and had a total 34 kills compared to CNCC's nine. Sorensen tied with #
Madison Packard# for a team high seven kills. Rathmann had 18 assists and seven digs while #
Jaclyn Arave# and #
Halee Rogers# each dug the ball eight times.
The wins placed the Lady Badgers in 3rd place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. They will play again in the Horne Activity Center on October 5th at 7PM against No. 2 Salt Lake Community College.
