Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
EPHRAIM — The Snow College Lady Badgers racked up a couple of road wins last week to back up their status as the No. 8 ranked junior college volleyball team in the nation. The Badgers swept Colorado Northwestern (CNCC) in Rangely Friday night (25-14, 25-14, 25-20) and followed that up Saturday afternoon with a four-set win over USU-Eastern in Price (23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19).

Sophomore outside hitter Delayne Daniel had an outstanding series, totaling 42 kills against only nine errors and hitting percentage of 0.344, her best two-match stretch of the season. She added 29 digs on defense, including 24 digs in Saturday's match against USU-Eastern.

For her efforts, Daniel was named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week and has been submitted for consideration as NJCAA National Player of the Week. The national winner will be named later this week on Wednesday.

Snow was successful on 32 percent of its kill attempts against CNCC while holding the Spartans to only 13 percent. Daniel had 18 kills and Brooke Lamb added 10. Selena Foster led CNCC with 10 kills. Cali Tovey had 20 digs for the Badgers and Magen Hunter served up 38 assists. Sierra Green had a match-high four blocks for the Badgers.

In Price on Saturday, USU-Eastern came out on a mission, taking the first set from the Badgers, 25-23. With the teams tied at 11 in the opening set, Eastern scored five straight points including three service aces in a row by Melissa Judd. Snow fought back to tie the score at 18, but could not hold on as Eastern took the first set.

However, the Badgers got things together and never trailed by more than a single point the rest of the way to take the match three sets to one. Daniel again led all players with 24 kills while committing only four errors. She added 24 digs in the match, one behind her teammate Tovey who took match-high honors with 25. Hunter had 48 assists, and Green and Savannah Whitworth each had four blocks. Carly Dalton led Eastern with 15 kills.

After one round of play in the Scenic West, College of Southern Idaho is undefeated at 5-0, trailed by Salt Lake Community at 4-1, Snow at 3-2, North Idaho 2-3, USU-Eastern 1-4 and CNCC 0-5. Snow hosts Salt Lake this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in an important match for both squads. Salt Lake swept the Badgers when they played in Taylorsville on Sept. 27, 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.
