Box Score The Snow College Lady Badgers finished their season on Saturday with a loss to the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles (CSI) in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournament at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. The Badgers defeated Colorado Northwestern on Friday (25-16, 17-25, 25-11, 25-15), but lost to the eventual tournament champion CSI on Saturday afternoon (16-25, 25-16, 25-19, 14-25, 12-15).
Sophomore
Savannah Whitworth led the Badgers with a match high 16 kills and 6 blocks. Sophomore
Quincey Thacker was second on the team with 13 kills and 3 blocks. Freshman
Sydnie Martindale, who was named Scenic West Libero of the Year had 23 digs.
After struggling to get in the groove in the opening set of the tournament, in which the Badgers had a team hitting percentage of only .140, they got things sorted out and by the fourth set Snow ran away from CNCC 25-7 on the strength of a .591 team hitting percentage.
Snow ends its season with a record of 12-18. Southern Idaho, which won both the SWAC regular season and SWAC tournament, along with NIC, which finished third and second respectively, will move on to the NJCAA national tournament starting Nov 19 in Casper, Wyo.
