Box Score PRICE, Utah (October 1, 2016) -- Four different Badgers were credited with 10 or more kills as the seventh-ranked Snow College women's volleyball team outlasted Utah State-Eastern, 3-1, in Scenic West action on Saturday. With the 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20 win, the Badgers improved to 16-5 on the season, including a 3-1 league record.
"Today was another really important win for our team," head coach Jeff Reynolds said. "We knew that Eastern would be a tough team. They have some match-ups that cause us some heartburn. I'm just so proud of these kids for how they took everything in stride today. We took our lumps, but just kept fighting. We didn't get rattled and stayed focused until the end. That was a tough one, and it's nice to get two quality Conference road wins this weekend."
Sophomore Brin Stewart racked up a match-high 15 kills while Rylee Cate was credited with 13 kills, Allison Packard added 12 and middle blocker Rebecca Bigler totaled 10 kills of her own to lead the Badgers' offensive attack. Setter Alisi Tauteoli posted a match leading 44 assists for the Badgers.
Defensively, sophomore Sydnie Martindale, who grew up in Price, racked up a season-high 40 digs against the Eagles.
With the win, the Badgers have won 10 of their last 12 matches and have registered a 9-1 road record during that stretch. Snow will return to the road next Saturday for a Scenic West match-up against Southern Nevada. Match time is set for 1 pm in Henderson, Nevada.
