Box Score NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Aug. 27, 2016) — After dropping a three-point decision (25-22) in the first set of the match to Lee College, the Snow College women's volleyball team battled back to take the second set, 25-17. However, the Rebels came out tough to finish off the Badgers in the final two sets, 25-23, 25-21. The loss marked the first of the season for the Badgers.
"I wish I could say we were tired from a long weekend," Snow College head coach Jeff Reynold said. "But, I don't think that was the case. There were times when we played like we could, but in the end, we made too many mistakes, and a very good Lee College volleyball team took advantage of those errors. This was a great lesson for us. You have to be sharp, focused, and disciplined through the entire match. We can't take plays off; especially against a team as good as Lee. I'm proud of our team for the way we hung in there and battled it out to the very end. We didn't give up, and that's what's important."
Sophomore
Brin Stewart led the Badgers with a team-best 13 kills on 25 attempts to hit .360 for the match. Sophomore
Allison Packard added 10 kills. Defensively,
Sydnie Martindale collected 15 digs, while freshman
Kelsie Evans totaled a team-best six blocks against the Rebels.
Snow returns to campus on Thursday, Sept. 1 to take on Western Wyoming in the team's season-opener. Match time is set for 7 p.m. and admission is free. All home matches are played in the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim.
