Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Sept. 3, 2016) -- After getting off to a 4-1 mark to start the season, the Snow College women's volleyball team traveled to the Crystal "Innvitational" in Salt Lake City on Friday and Saturday. The Badgers got off to a fast start, collecting a 3-0 victory over Casper College, followed by a 3-1 win over North Idaho to improve to 6-1 on the season.

"We competed very well on Friday, " head coach Jeff Reynolds said. "We came out quick and tough against Casper, but we let our concentration slide a little against North Idaho, and we were forced to re-focus after dropping the second set. Once we regained our momentum, we were just fine. Overall, we played our game and enjoyed a successful day. "

On Saturday, the Badgers faced their toughest competiton to date -- No. 2 Western Nebraska. While Snow managed to keep each set close, including a 27-25 loss in the first set, the Cougars proved to be too much for the still-improving Badgers. Western Nebraska claimed the 3-0 victory. Later in the day, Snow faced No. 4 Iowa Western and struggled against the Reivers high-powered offenseive attack. Iowa Western defeated the Badgers, 3-0.

"While none of us like to lose, I'm pleased with how we played throughout the tournament," Reynolds said. "It gives us a very clear indication of the kind of team we are and what we need to do in order to improve. It was a good barometer for us to see Western Nebraska and Iowa Western. These are textremely talented programs with a long history of success on the national stage. If we want to join them, and compete at that level, we have some work to do. But the good news is, we're making some serious headway. and the gap isn't as wide as it has been."

Snow College, now 6-3 on the season, will travel to Twin Falls, Idaho next weekend to participate in a four-match schedule at the College of Southern Idaho. The Badgers will take on Miami Dade and Chemeketa on Friday, followed by matches against Hutchinson (KS) and North Idaho on Saturday.
