Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah (Aug. 26, 2017) -- The 20th ranked Snow College football team scored early and often en route to a 65-6 victory over Wasatch Revolution on Saturday, marking a solid preseason victory in the first-ever night game at Robert Stoddard Field. The Badgers scored 63 unanswered points before the Revolution could manage a score late in the fourth quarter.
Derek Wright started the scoring with a 44-yard touchdown reception from
Shane Johnson with 10:38 in the first quarter.
Daymon Murray picked off Wasatch quarterback Charlie Peterson for a 38-yard pick-six with 9:14 left in first quarter. With 1:14 left in the first quarter, Johnson scored on aa five-yard run to give Snow College a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.
The Badgers posted 21 more points in the second quarter, including two 29-yard touchdown passes from Johnson to
Jeremiah Beverly, and a 10-yard from
Jaylen Warren. Like the first two quarters, Snow posted 21 more points in the third quarter, fueled by a 95-yard kickoff return by
Leon Morgan to start the second half. Warren had a 12-yard touchdown run and
Kelle Sanders recovered a fumble and sprinted 52-yards for the touchdown to mark the second defensive score of the game.
Wasatch finally got on the board with 4:14 left in the fourth quarter after Peterson connected with Matt Mann for a 10-yard touchdown pass; however, Snow's
Kalen McGee picked up the point-after attempt and returned it for a two-point touchback.
All totaled, the Badgers racked up 412 total offensive yards, including 149 yards passing and 263 yards rushing. Defensively, Snow College held the Revolution to just 10 yards rushing and allowed just 164 yards passing. The Badger defense was also credited with two touchdowns, including an interception and a fumble recover.
Snow College will travel to Colorado Springs next weekend to take on Air Force Academy Prep. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
