EPHRAIM, Utah (January 17, 2019) -- The Snow College women's basketball team posted a 35-point victory over CNCC on Thursday, claiming their first Scenic West Conference victory of the season. Sophomore guard
Savannah Lucero posted a game-high 19 points, leading the Lady Badgers to the 79-44 win over the Lady Spartans. With the win, Snow College improved to 13-7 on the season and claimed their fifth win in the past seven games.
The Lady Badgers jumped out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter, then stretched that lead to 33-20 at the break. In the second half, Snow outscored CNCC, 46-24 to cruise to the 35-point win. For the game, Snow shot 30-for-60 (50 percent) from the field and held the Lady Spartans to just 15-of-40 (37.5 percent) field goal attempts. Behind Lucero,
Megan Carr knocked in 14 points while
Savannah Domgaard was credited with 11 points for the Lady Badgers.
Lourdes Gonzalez and
Rachel Roberts each had 10 points in the winning effort. Gonzalez was also credited with a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Lady Badgers will next travel to Price, Utah to take on USU Eastern on Saturday, January 19. The Lady Eagles are currently in second place with a 2-1 league record. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Price.
