TWIN FALLS, Idaho (January 24, 2019) -- The Snow College women's basketball team picked up an important road victory on Thursday, defeating Southern Idaho, 51-45, to move in to a tie with the Golden Eagles for second place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference Standings. The win improved the Lady Badgers' record to 15-7 on the season, with a 3-2 mark in conference play.
Sophomore
Savannah Lucero led Snow with 17 points, connecting on 6-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-11 from three-point range. Lucero's five three-pointers is her highest total since draining six three's against Western Wyoming back on November 3. Sophomore teammate Lourdes Gonzales picked up her second double-double in as many games with 11 points and a season-high 15 rebounds. Gonazales has had 10 or more rebounds in three straight games. The reigning SWAC player of the week,
Megan Carr, was credited with 10 points in the victory.
The Lady Badger defense held Southern Idaho to just 29 percent shooting on the night. Only one Golden Eagle managed to score in double digits.
Snow will return to Eprhaim to take on league leading Salt Lake Community College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. (MT).
