Football Team Enters Season Ranked No. 6

EPHRAIM, Utah (Aug. 19, 2019) -- Under the direction of first-year head coach Andrew Mitchell, the Snow College football team has been ranked No. 6 in the 2019 NJCAA Football Preseason Rankings. The Badgers are slated to kick off the 2019 season this Saturday, Aug. 24 at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan. The Broncobusters will enter the contest ranked No. 3 in the preseason rankings.

"Our preseason ranking is a credit to former players and coaches who worked extremely hard to lay the foundation for Snow College Football," Mitchell said. "The 2019 Badgers know their responsibility is to earn the respect of our opponents each week and build on the great tradition of Snow Football. Preseason rankings are quickly forgotten. We look forward to the final postseason ranking in December as the ultimate measuring stick for this 2019 team."

With the breakup of the Western States Football League (WSFL), Snow College was forced to put together an independent schedule this fall. All totaled, the Badgers will take on five different opponents ranked in the nation's top-20, including Garden City, No. 2 Iowa Western, No. 8 Lackawanna, No. 10 Butler, and No. 14 Iowa Central, marking one of the toughest -- if not the toughest--schedule in Snow's 100th year of college football.

"We're excited about the season," says first-year head coach Andrew Mitchell. "This is likely the toughest schedule Snow has ever played."

Kickoff at Garden City is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CDT).
