Farrer Drops 31 in 105-81 Win Over Spartans

EPHRAIM, Utah (February 6, 2020) -- Freshman Trey Farrer went 14-of-14 from the field to score a season-high 31 points in the Badgers' 105-81 victory over Colorado Northwestern on Thursday. With the win, Snow College improves to 14-12 on the season, and with a 5-3 conference record, has a solid two-game lead over Southern Idaho for second place in the Scenic West Standings. 

A total of five Badgers scored in double figures in the team's fourth 100-point game of the season. In addition to Farrer's 31 points, Brantzen Blackner and Taylor Miller both dropped 15 points on the Spartans, while Matt Norman and Jonah Roth both had 10 points in the victory. Sophomore Darrian Nebeker was credited with a team leading eight rebounds. All totaled the Badgers shot a blistering 60.3 percent from the field, including a 62.96 clip in the second half. In the first half, Snow connected on 7-of-18 shots from three-point range to grab a 60-42 lead at halftime. 

Over the last five games, Farrer, a 6-9 center from St. George, Utah, has averaged 20.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. 

"Trey is having a great season, especially the past few games," Snow College head coach Rob Nielson said. "If he keeps it up, it will be hard to keep him around another year."

Snow College will next travel to Southern Idaho on Saturday, Feb. 8. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in Twin Falls. The Badgers will return to Ephraim on Thursday, Feb. 13. That night will be an Orange Out. The first 500 fans wearing orange, will receive a free orange creamsicle.
