Box Score 2 The Snow College Badgers picked up two big wins on the road this past weekend by knocking off Otero Junior College 86-78 and Casper College 80-72.
Snow College got off to a slow start against Otero falling behind by as many as 11 points in the first half and trailed by nine at the half. Clayton Southwick kept the Badgers in the game with 11 of his game high 20 points in the first half.
The Badgers finally found their game in the second half outscoring Otero 49-32. Snow was led by Derek Marlow who had 15 of his 18 points in the second half.Â
The Badger defense came up big in the second half holding Otero to 37% shooting from the floor and just 25% from behind the three-point line.
The second game of the weekend saw the Badgers facing the Casper College Thuinderbirds. Again, Snow College fell behind early and trailed by ten but battled back to cut the deficit to three at the half.
"We need to do a better job of getting into the game from the very start." said Head Coach Rob Nielsen. "We can't continue to dig a hole and then have to work to get out of it. If we can start strong the game is a lot easier."
Wyatt Lowell came off the bench with seven points to help the Badgers. Hagen Wright collected nine rebounds and Chase Potter went nine for ten from the free throw line. Wright and Potter each scored a game high 17 points in the Badger win.
Snow College is at home this weekend hosting Arizona Western and Jump Start. Games are Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 4pm.
