Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah (March 10, 2021) -- The third-ranked Snow College women's volleyball team improved to 16-2 on the season with a decisive, 3-0, win over Colorado Northwestern on Wednesday, marking the team's fourth straight victory at home this season, and the 14th straight home win, dating back to 2018.
The Badger offense continued to set a blistering pace, racking up 44 kills on 70 attempts with just six errors in the match to record a .543 hitting efficiency. Snow started the match hitting .607 in the first set, followed by an impressive .667 in the second set. The Badgers were equally impressive in serve-receive where they recorded an overall side-out percentage of 85.3 percent, including a 91 percent clip in the second set of the match.
Freshman
Macie Gordon led the Badgers with nine kills on 11 attempts, hitting a profound .818 on the night. Fellow freshman
KJ Strong added eight kills on 10 attempts to hit .600 for the match, while sophomores
Bridgett Talia and
Lydia Montague were credited with seven and six kills, respectively. Freshman
Macy Short chalked up 28 assists and a team-high eight digs.
Snow College will finish the week on Friday, March 12 against No. 4 Utah State Eastern here in Ephraim. The Eagles are the only team to defeat the Badgers this season and hold a half-game lead (with Salt Lake C.C.) over Snow for first place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at the Horne Activity Center.
