Box Score 3 Snow College opened their pre-season on Friday at the 2021 New Mexico Military Institute Classic in Roswell, New Mexico. The tournament hosted several of the top 25 ranked schools in the country including Salt Lake Community College, Seward County Community College, Tyler, and Yavapai.
Snow opened play with pre-season ranked Yavapai College (16) and defeated them in straight sets, 25-17, 25-13, and 25-22. The team excelled with some great defense totaling 45 digs lead by outside hitting freshman Megan Pannell (12), another freshman Sage Loveland (11) playing libero, and sophomore Macie Gordon (10). Macy Short had 29 assists, and offensively, Kjersti Strong, "KJ" led offensively with 10 kills hitting .444.
Friday August 20th
Tournament play continued on Friday with Snow facing Pima College. The first set was a very intense game ending with the badgers on top 30-28. Sets two and three were 25-17 and 25-17. Returning outside hitter Eden Whitmore tallied 12 kills, and Macie Short with 37 assists and 5 digs. Other standout performances included Hailee Oldroyd with 8 digs, and Kara Clayton recorded 4 service aces and 2 blocks.
Saturday August 21st
Day two of the NMMI Classic began with Snow facing a top ten preseason ranked Tyler in a very intense back and forth 5 set match. Offensively the badgers had an impressive 58 kills, 13 aces, and 77 digs. Top performances included libero Sage Loveland with 17 digs. Macy Short was an incredible leader and athletic performance this match standing out with 41 assists, 7 service aces, 11 kills and 15 digs.
Tyler opened the first set defeating Snow by 3 points. The badgers came back to win the second set decisively. Long rallies, great defensive plays, and very intense play ended with a 5 set victory for Snow 15-6 in the 5th set.

Saturday August 21st
Tournament play ended with Snow playing pre-season ranked Seward County Community College (14). Snow won the match despite losing the first set with a slow start, 16-22, 27-25, 27-25 and 25-20.
The second and third sets ended in "volleyball overtime" with some great rallies and defense by both teams. 27-25 and 27-25. Snow controlled the final set closing the match 25-20.
Macy Short had 42 assists and 21 digs and 9 kills. Opposite Macie Gordon hit an impressive .389 with 9 kills and also having 2 blocks and 9 digs. Libero Sage Loveland contributed with 13 digs. Ryen Bradshaw played in her inaugural game being one of the top passers in this match.
This concluded the first tournament for Snow ending 4-0. The next matches are Friday and Saturday in Riverton Wyoming August 27th and 28th featuring pre-season ranked Western Nebraska (8), Central Wyoming, Colby and Casper Colleges.
