The Snow College women's soccer team was defeated in the Scenic West Athletic Conference Championship 3-1 by Salt Lake Community College Saturday in Herriman, Utah.

The Badgers entered the matchup as the number one seed after winning the SWAC Regular Season Title. They defeated Truckee Meadows Community College 1-0 in the opening round of the SWAC Tournament to set up a rubber match with SLCC Saturday.

Snow College lost 2-0 to the Bruins in the first matchup of the season Sept. 1 before defeating them 4-2 at home Oct. 15.  The Badgers were riding a 10-game winning streak entering Saturday's action. Â

The Bruins struck first blood in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead.  The Badgers responded in the 17
th minute to tie things up. Â

Skye Kennedy headed it over the outstretched arms of the keeper to even things up. Â

The Bruins would add a goal just before halftime to take a 2-1 lead into the break.  SLCC would add an insurance goal in the 67
th minute to take a 3-1 lead which they were able to hang on to over the final minutes to claim the victory.

Snow College had several opportunities throughout the match tallying 11 shots, eight of which were on goal, but was unable to prevail.   The Badgers now fall to 13-2-1 overall on the season.

With the loss, the Badgers will now await their fate for the rest of the season.  SLCC will play Arizona Western College for the District Championship.  That winner will receive an automatic bid into the NJCAA National Tournament.  The remaining teams in Region 18 and Region 1 would need to receive an at-large bid in order to participate in the tournament.  For scheduling information, visit snowbadgers.com. Â
