Badgers Cruise to Victory over Colorado Northwestern

The Snow College men's basketball team earned a convincing 89-61 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College Friday in Ephraim.  With the victory, the Badgers improve to 13-2 overall and 5-1 within Scenic West Athletic Conference play to start the season.

The Badgers entered Friday's game after defeating Utah State University Eastern Wednesday night in Price.  The Badgers shot a season-low 1-12 from the free-throw line, but were able to hold on the the 66-64 victory. 

Snow College continued the momentum into Friday's game against the Spartans.  The Badgers led wire-to-wire while receiving 64 points from their bench and scoring 42 points in the paint en route to the 89-61 win.   
 
It was the Dylan Jones show in the first half.  He connected on three 3-pointers in a two-minute stretch in the early stages of the half.  He finished the half scoring 20 points on 5-8 shooting from beyond the arc.
 
The Badgers opened up a 10-point lead to start the game.  The Spartans would hang around for the majority of the first half until the Badgers used a 10-0 run near the end of the first half before taking a 52-30 lead into the halftime break.
 
Snow College increased the advantage in the first 10 minutes of the second half going on a massive 20-6 run to take a commanding 76-39 lead.  The Badgers would cruise through the game's final minutes to claim an 89-61 victory.
 
Jones led all scorers with 22 points on 5-9 shooting from distance.  Dayshawn Wiley finished with 16 points and four rebounds while Chase Potter and Clayton Southwick each put in 11 points in the victory.
 
Snow College will now take a break from SWAC play to participate in the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout in Mesa, Arizona beginning Dec. 27.  For opponents and game start times, visit snowbadgers.com.
