Snow College Tames TMCC Lizards

After suffering back-to-back double-overtime losses, the Snow College men's soccer team rebounded to defeat Truckee Meadows Community College 2-0 Saturday.

Coming off a heartbreaking 1-0 double-overtime loss against No. 2 Salt Lake Community College Thursday, the Badgers set their sights on the Lizards of TMCC.  Two second-half goals propelled Snow College to victory.

It was a quiet first half with neither side being able to gain an advantage.  TMCC held the Snow College offense in check as the Badgers were only able to record two shots compared to four for the Lizards.

It was Oliver Fehintola who broke through early in the second period.  In the 52nd minute, Aruthur Macri and Elijah Tenger combined to find Fehintola who did the rest and beat the keeper to give the Badgers the 1-0 advantage.

Snow College would add an insurance goal late in the match as Richard Henry took a pass from Itsuki Matsuyama and found the back of the net in the 82nd minute to give the Badgers all the cushion they would need.  They salted away the remaining eight minutes of action to earn their third victory of the season 2-0.

Snow College, who now holds a 3-2 overall record, will continue its four-game road swing as it continues Scenic West Athletic Conference play by taking on the College of Southern Nevada Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Henderson, Nevada, followed by a matchup with Community Christian College at 1:30 p.m. in Redlands, California.

The Badgers will return home for a non-conference home match with Central Wyoming College Wednesday, September 14th at 1 p.m.  For additional information, visit snowbadgers.com.
