Volleyball Wraps Up Home Schedule Against SLCC, CSI

OPENING SERVE: The Snow College women's volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule of games against No. 3 Salt Lake Community College Thursday and No. 10 College of Southern Idaho Saturday.  The Badgers will host the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. and then welcome the Golden Eagles to town for a match beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Snow College is coming off a pair of victories against Colorado Northwestern Community College and the College of Southern Nevada.  The Badgers defeated both teams by way of three-set sweeps improving to 9-13 overall and 2-3 within the Scenic West Athletic Conference.

KNOW YOUR FOE: The Bruins enter the weekend with a 17-5 overall record and sit atop the SWAC standings with a 5-0 mark within conference play.  They are currently riding a 10-game winning streak and haven't lost a match since Sept. 2 against Miami Dade College.

SLCC defeated the Badgers in a three-set sweep in Taylorsville Sept. 23.  The Badgers have lost three consecutive matches to the Bruins after winning 12 of their previous 13 meetings since 2017.

The Golden Eagles are currently ranked 10th in the NJCAA Women's Volleyball Top-20 Poll and second in the SWAC standings with a 19-6 overall record and a 4-1 conference record.  Their only conference loss came in a 3-2 defeat against SLCC Sept. 27.

They defeated the Badgers in a three-set sweep to begin conference play Sept. 22.  The Badgers are 8-23 all time against the Golden Eagles but have lost consecutive matches against them.  This came after a streak that saw Snow College win seven of eight matches since 2019.

LAST TIME OUT: The Snow College women's volleyball team earned a three-set sweep against the College of Southern Nevada Saturday in Ephraim.  With the win, the Badgers improve to 9-13 overall and 2-3 within Scenic West Athletic Conference play.

Snow College entered the weekend following a split of the two matches played last weekend.  The Badgers dropped a match to No. 12 Utah State University Eastern followed by a three-set sweep against Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday.

The Badgers got off to a good start taking an 8-2 advantage in the first set.  The Coyotes rallied and cut the lead down to two before the Badgers went on an 8-4 run to take back control.  They would end up taking the set 25-20 despite a late push from CSN.

The second set was the most convincing for the Badgers as they claimed a 25-11 win.  They jumped out to a modest 9-4 lead before exploding for a 13-3 run to take control and run away with set two.

It was a similar story in set three as Snow College jumped out to a 9-8 lead.  The Badgers proceeded to win 16 of the next 21 points to win the set, 25-13, and the match, 3-0.

Liv Marshall led the way for the Badgers as she recorded 12 kills and just two errors throughout the match. Kinley Kerbs had 16 assists while Corinne Taysom had 15.  Grace Holley paced the Badgers with 12 digs to aid in the victory.

Snow College will play its final two home matches of the season against No. 3 Salt Lake Community College and No. 10 College of Southern Idaho.  They'll take on the Bruins Thursday at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Golden Eagles Saturday at 1:00 p.m. inside the Horne Activity Center.  For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
