The Snow College women's soccer team defeated number two seed Utah State University Eastern in the first round of the Region 18 Tournament 3-1. Following the victory, they suffered a loss to number one seed Salt Lake Community College in the championship game, 2-0.
The Badgers entered the Region 18 Tournament as the number three seed, facing USUE as the second seed. The Badgers trailed at halftime with a score of 1-0 as Lauren Maxfield scored the first goal for the Eagles in the sixth minute.
Shortly after halftime, Madelyn McQueen scored the first goal for the Badgers in the 57th minute, tying the Eagles. With this momentum, the Badgers put up two more goals, with Kadyn Hydar scoring next in the 71st minute and Saige Meryhew closing out the game in the 82nd minute, giving them the 3-1 victory.
The Badgers took on SLCC in the title game Saturday in Taylorsville and lost 2-0. The Badgers outshooted the Bruins 11-10 including doubling their shots 8-4 in the second half. The Badgers also put more shots on goal than the Bruins 5-4.
