Badgers Close Regular Season in Victory Over CNCC

The Snow College men's basketball team earned an 84-59 victory against Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday afternoon in Rangely, Co. This was the final game of the regular season for the Badgers as they will now prepare for the Region 18 tournament. 

Snow College entered Saturday's matchup coming off of two assertive victories over Community Christian College. In Friday's game, the Badgers soared to a 131-54 victory as every player on the team scored in double figures. Saturday's game saw Snow College cruise to a 128-55 win on 62 percent shooting from the field. 

The Badgers would open Saturday's game on a 12-0 run as they took early control over the Spartans. Snow College continued to push the lead throughout the first half and led by as many as 19 points in the first half. 

In the first half of play, Zach Visentin and Gaige Savage led the team in scoring with nine points each. Colin Christensen followed closely behind as he finished the half with eight points. The first half came to a close with the Badgers leading 39-25.

As the second half began, Snow College continued to dominate. The team led by as many as 30 points near the end of the game. Visentin continued to excel offensively as he contributed 11 second-half points on 4-4 shooting. 

The Badger's shooting improved by over 20 percent in the second half when compared to their first-half shooting. The Spartans on the other hand continued to struggle as they shot just 27 percent from the field.

Snow College would go on to earn the 84-59 victory over CNCC to close the regular season. The Badgers were led in scoring by Visentin who dropped 20 points on 8-11 shooting from the field. In addition to Visentin's strong performance, three other Snow College players scored in double figures. Chase Potter finished with 12 points while Christensen and Savage contributed 11 points each.

The Badgers closed the regular season with an overall record of 19-11 and a 10-8 record within the Scenic West Athletic Conference. They will now turn their attention to postseason play.

Snow College will likely face the No.-1 ranked and undefeated College of Southern Idaho Thursday in Twin Falls to kick off the Region 18 Tournament. The Badgers are 0-3 against the Golden Eagles this season and lost their only matchup in Twin Falls this season 101-64. Thursdays matchup is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
