The Snow College women's basketball team was defeated by No. 5 College of Southern Idaho and Utah State University Eastern over the weekend.  The Badgers lost 71-62 to CSI and 64-53 to USUE.

The Badgers entered the weekend having defeated Colorado Northwestern Community College 77-55 Jan. 28.  Snow College was looking for its first victories over CSI and USUE as the Badgers were 0-3 against the two teams to this point in the season.

Snow College opened the game against the Golden Eagles with an early five-point lead, but CSI would close the gap as the Badgers led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter.  The Golden Eagles outscored Snow College 20-12 in the second quarter to take a 34-28 lead into the halftime break.

CSI started the third quarter with a 9-2 run to take a 43-30 lead.  Snow College countered with a 15-4 run of its own to get within two and would head into the fourth quarter trailing 53-49.

The Golden Eagles scored the first seven points in the fourth quarter to regain a double-digit lead before the Badgers got back within five points with less than six minutes to play.  CSI would stave off the Badger's comeback attempt and extend its lead to as many as 14 before earning the 71-62 victory.

Three Badgers finished in double figures led by Enid Vaifanua, who had 16 points on 7-14 shooting from the field.  Samiana Suguturaga totaled 13 points and four rebounds while Marika Collins had 11 points in the loss.

The Badgers struggled out of the gate against USUE Saturday scoring just two points in the first nine minutes of the first quarter.  They went into the second quarter trailing 7-5.  The Eagles extended their lead in the second quarter behind 53 percent shooting from the field and went into halftime with a 27-16 lead.

Snow College and USUE played an even third quarter scoring 16 points apiece.  The Badgers trailed by 14 midway through the fourth quarter but used a quick 9-0 run to get back within five with just under three minutes to play.  The Eagles were able to put the Badgers away with good free-throw shooting and held on to win 64-53.

Vaifanua once again led the Badgers in scoring as she finished with 11 points.  Suguturaga narrowly missed out on a double-double as she scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the loss.
