Men's Basketball Wraps up Non-Conference Schedule with Victory Against Jump Start

The Snow College men's basketball team finished its non-conference schedule with a 121-87 victory against Jump Start Academy Thursday in Ephraim.  The Badgers will enter Scenic West Athletic Conference play with a 15-1 overall record.

The Badgers entered the midweek matchup following the Aztec Classic in which they collected two victories. They defeated Cochise College 80-76 and Bismarck State College 93-52 which sandwiched their only loss of the season against Pima Community College.

Things started even through the first five minutes of action.  A pair of 3-pointers from the Rebels helped level the score at 13 through the first four minutes.  The Badgers used a quick 9-0 burst to take control.

The Rebels slowly began to trim the lead through the middle minutes of the opening period.  They cut the Badgers' lead to just three with 8:30 to play in the first half.  The Badgers then used a 14-0 run to regain momentum.  They would take a 58-36 lead into the halftime break.

The Badgers put the game to bed to begin the second half.  They quickly extended the lead to 30 points through the first five minutes.  During that stretch, the Badgers scored 17 consecutive points and eventually took an 89-47 lead.

Snow College cruised the rest of the way and led by as many as 49 en route to a 121-87 victory.  The 121 points scored against the Rebels is the highest point total the Badgers have recorded all season.  They are averaging 94.1 points per game, which is 13th overall in the nation.

Every Badger who played in Thursday's game scored.  Dylan Jones led the team with 24 points on 8-12 shooting while also grabbing five rebounds.  Isaac Finlinson had 22 points and eight rebounds.  Isaac Garrett chipped in 13 points and six rebounds while Jake Howe added 12 points in the victory.

The Badgers will now prepare for SWAC play as they play North Idaho College Wednesday in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho followed by a matchup with the College of Southern Idaho Saturday in Twin Falls, Idaho.  Wednesday's game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. with Saturday's match slated for 3:00 p.m. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
