The Snow College volleyball team defeated the College of Southern Idaho and North Idaho College in the last home matches of the season. The Badgers defeated the Golden Eagles 3-0 and the Cardinals 3-1. 

The Badgers were coming off a 3-0 loss to the then No. 7 Utah State University Eastern. Snow College also dropped its earlier matchup against the Eagles 3-1 Oct. 2.

The Badgers are currently sitting in third place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings with a 5-3 conference record. Snow College sits behind No. 5 Eagles (8-0) and No. 11 Salt Lake Community College (6-2). 

The first set against the Golden Eagles stayed close until the game was tied at six. CSI then scored six of the next seven points to go up 12-7. The Golden Eagles maintained a lead until they were up 14-11. 

The Badgers then returned the favor, scoring six of the next seven points to regain the lead, 17-15. The Badgers maintained a two point lead before scoring the final three points of the set to win 25-20.

The second set also remained close until the Golden Eagles were leading 10-9. The Badgers then went on a 7-1 run to go up 16-11. CSI followed this by scoring four of the next five points to pull the game within two. 

The Badgers then went on a seven-point run beginning with a kill by Cass Klapp. The late run put the Badgers up 24-16. Klapp then finished off the set with another kill to win the second set 25-16.

The Badgers started the third set with a four-point burst before the Golden Eagles scored a point. The game was then 5-3 in favor of Snow College when the Badgers tallied nine of 10 points to go up 14-4. 

The Golden Eagles tried to claw their way back with a five-point run of their own to put the score 14-9 for Snow College. The Badgers maintained at least a four-point lead for the remainder of the game before claiming the final set 25-17 to earn the 3-0 win.

The Badgers then hosted the Cardinals for their final home match of the season. Snow College swept NIC in its first matchup this season.

The first set remained close with a few point lead going back-and-forth until the Badgers were up 12-10. The Cardinals then went on a six-point run to go up 16-12. The Badgers answered back, taking seven of the next 10 points to knot the game at 19.

The teams split the next six points and the set was tied at 22. The Badgers then went up 24-23 before the Cardinals went on a three-point burst to take the first set 26-24.

The second set stayed close until the match was tied at eight. The Badgers then went on a four-point run to go up 12-8. The Badgers retained the lead for the remainder of the match after out-scoring the Cardinals 13-9 in the final 22 points. Snow College took the second set 25-17.

The third set remained close until the set was knotted at 13 with a three-point lead being the largest lead during that time. 

The Cardinals then went up 15-13 before a commanding nine-point run with Maryn Faddis serving during the burst to go up 22-15. Snow College then took three of the next five points to earn another 25-17 set victory.

The fourth set started off with a five-point burst for the Badgers. The Cardinals answered back scoring six of the next eight points to push the score 7-6 in favor of Snow College.

The Badgers then went on an eight-point run with Faddis serving again during the run. Snow College took a commanding 15-6 lead before taking 10 of the last 19 points to claim the fourth set 25-15. 

Maggie Larsen led the Badgers offensively with 23 kills spanning the two matches. Kinley Kerbs tallied 72 assists over the weekend, along with two solo blocks, her first blocks of the season. Aspen Anderson led the Badger defense with 20 digs across the two games.

The Badgers will wrap up regular season play this weekend with two matches, first against Colorado Northwestern Community College Friday at 5 p.m. Friday's match will be played in Rangely, Colorado. 

Following Friday's match, the Badgers will then travel to Salt Lake Community College Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday's match will take place in Taylorsville, Utah. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
