OPENING KICKOFF: The Snow College women's soccer team will continue home conference play against Utah State University Eastern Saturday at 1 p.m. The match is scheduled to kickoff at the Snow College Soccer Complex in Ephraim, Utah.

The Badgers are coming off of two shutout victories over Truckee Meadows Community College (8-0) and the College of Southern Idaho (3-0). Snow College is 9-1 overall and is currently ranked 11th in the NJCAA Top 20 Poll.

Liv Harding and Hayley Ogden both received weekly awards from the Scenic West Athletic Conference after the Badgers added two more shutout victories.

KNOW YOUR FOE: The Badgers are 18-2-4 against the Eagles historically and on a current two-game win streak. The Badgers claimed a 4-2 victory over the Eagles in their first matchup this season.

USUE is 3-4-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play and is coming off a recent 4-1 loss to TMCC. Before the loss, the Eagles were on a three-game win streak with victories over Pacific Northwest Christian College (9-0), North Idaho College (1-0), and CSI (5-0).

The Badgers outshot the Eagles 14-11 in their previous matchup. Nine of the 14 Badger shots were on goal with four finding the net and five saved by the Eagle goalkeeper. Hayley Ogden faced four shots turning two away, allowing two goals.

LAST TIME OUT: The Snow College women's soccer team claimed two more shutout victories over Truckee Meadows Community College and the College of Southern Idaho. The No. 13 Badgers defeated the Lizards 8-0 and the Golden Eagles 3-0.

The Badgers entered the weekend off of two victories over North Idaho College (4-0) and Pacific Northwest Christian College (14-0). The Badgers only allowed two shots last weekend with both of them coming from NIC.

Liv Harding got the ball rolling for the Badgers in the 2nd minute after taking the ball off of the Lizard goalkeeper's foot to score. Harding scored again in the 19th minute assisted by Ali Spencer.

The Badgers quickly scored again with a goal from Megan Hanson on another assist from Spencer. Harding netted her third and fourth goals in the 23rd and 26th minute.  The first of which was assisted by Bailee Ballard and Daisha Wagner.  The second of which was unassisted.

The Badgers entered the half with a 5-0 lead showing no signs of slowing down. Ballard extended the lead in the 50th minute on a pass from Wagner. The Badgers were then fouled in the 18-yard box for a penalty kick. Spencer took advantage and scored a goal in the 52nd minute.

Harding scored her fifth and final goal of the match in the 57th minute. This was the first time a Badger has scored five goals in a single game since Skye Kennedy in 2022 matching the program record for goals in a game. Harding is now tied for fourth in the nation in goals scored with 14.

Following the record-setting victory, the Badgers faced off against CSI for the first time in program history. This is the first season in soccer for the Golden Eagles.

The Badgers took the lead with the only first-half goal in the 11th minute from Wagner assisted by Emily Morrill. The Badgers took nine shots while limiting the Golden Eagles to five in the first half.

Morrill extended the Badger lead in the 60th minute on an assist from Ballard. Ballad then scored her own goal in the 67th minute assisted by Wagner and Harding.

Hayley Ogden turned away two shots against the Lizards and four against the Golden Eagles. Ogden now has 17 saves on the season.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Two members of the Snow College women's soccer team took home Scenic West Athletic Conference weekly awards. Liv Harding earned SWAC Player of the Week while Hayley Ogden was named Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Harding, a sophomore forward from West Valley City, Utah, brought home the award after a record match against Colorado Northwest Community College and helping defeat the College of Southern Idaho. Harding scored five goals against the Spartans with four goals in the first 26 minutes. Her fifth goal was the last goal for the Badgers that capped an 8-0 victory.

These five goals added over the weekend have lifted her 14 goals on the season moving her to fourth in goals in the nation. Harding has started in all 10 games for the Badgers racking up 33 points on the season. Harding also assisted the final goal in the 3-0 victory of the Golden Eagles last Saturday earning herself a total of 11 points over the weekend.

Ogden, a sophomore from Lehi, Utah, has earned the award after serving two shutouts against TMCC and CSI. The two shutouts have continued the four-game winning streak for the Badgers, moving them to a 6-1-0 conference record.

Ogden racked up four saves against TMCC and two more against CSI, denying both teams any goals to continue the four-game shutout streak for the Badgers. Ogden has 17 saves for the 2024 season through 10 games played.
