The Snow College men's soccer team defeated Utah State University Eastern 1-0 Saturday. The Badgers have claimed victories in both regular season games against the Eagles this year. Snow College defeated USUE 3-1 in its earlier matchup this season.
The Badgers are coming off a pair of victories over Truckee Meadows Community College and the College of Southern Idaho last weekend. The Badgers defeated the Lizards 3-2 and the Golden Eagles 6-2.
The match started very physically with a total of five fouls and three yellow cards given in the first 10 minutes of the match. Both goalkeepers had great saves to keep the game knotted at zero before Ansoumane Camara scored the lone goal of the match in the 21st minute assisted by Nefthaly Loya.Â
The remainder of the match stayed physical and close with many scoring chances for both teams. There were six more yellow cards given out, totaling nine for the match.Â
The Badgers took 18 total shots with six on goal, five of which were saved by the Eagle goalkeeper. USUE only had five shots on goal in 15 total shots, all getting turned away by Mathias Christensen. Christensen now has 33 saves on the season in nine games played.
