OPENING KICKOFF: The Snow College women's soccer team will finish off its home conference schedule against No. 6 Salt Lake Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m.
The Badgers will also face Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday at 11 a.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Snow College Soccer Complex.
The Badgers are 9-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play and are coming off a 2-2 draw against Utah State University Eastern.Â
KNOW YOUR FOE: Snow College is 10-11-6 historically against SLCC after dropping its last matchup 2-0 earlier this season. The Badgers are 6-1-4 when hosting the Bruins in Ephraim, Utah.
The Bruins are 7-1–0 in conference play and are currently on a seven-game win streak. Their sole loss came against CNCC (1-0) in their first SWAC game of the season. The Bruins have only allowed two goals during conference play.
The Badgers took five shots during the first matchup with the Bruins but were unable to convert on any of them. Hayley Ogden turned away four of six Bruin shots, allowing two goals.Â
Snow College is 16-0 against CNCC historically dating back to 2016. The Badgers have scored a total of 169 goals while limiting the Spartans to two throughout the sixteen matchups.
The Spartans hold a 3-3-2 conference record and are coming off 5-0 loss to SLCC. CNCC has scored five total goals while allowing 14 goals during the season.
The Badgers took 26 shots with 16 on goal against the Spartans converting on four of those shots. Snow College limited CNCC to three shots, allowing one goal.
LAST TIME OUT: The Snow College women's soccer team tied 2-2 against Utah State University Eastern last Saturday. This was the first draw the No. 11 Badgers have recorded this season.Â
Snow College was coming off of two shutout victories over Truckee Meadows Community College and the College of Southern Idaho the weekend prior. The Badgers defeated the Lizards 8-0 and the Golden Eagles 3-0.
Saturday's match marked the first game in the second half of the conference schedule for the Badgers. Snow College is sitting in second place behind No. 7 Salt Lake Community College.
The match got off to a quick start with a goal from Liv Harding in the 8th minute on an assist from Ali Spencer. The Badgers soon added onto their lead with another Harding goal from Bailee Ballard in the 18th minute.
Harding has tallied 16 goals for the season slotting her tied for third place in the nation, only one goal behind second place. Harding also leads the Scenic West Athletic Conference in goals, doubling the next closest scorer.
Soon after the two Badger goals, the Eagles scored one of their own in the 25th minute to pull the game back to a one goal difference. The Badgers entered halftime with a 2-1 lead.Â
Quickly after the second half began, the Eagles scored again in the 49th minute to tie the game at two. Although the Badgers had their chances in the second half, they were unable to find the back of the net and finished regulation in a 2-2 draw.
The Badgers outshot the Eagles 16-8 with eight shots on goal. Six of the Badger shots were turned away by the Eagle goalkeeper. Hayley Ogden saved two of the four shots on goal from the Eagles. Ogden has allowed only eight goals in 11 games this season.
