GAME NOTES: The Snow College men's basketball team squares off with Western Wyoming Community College in a standalone game Friday in Price, Utah. Friday's game will serve as the only game for the Badgers during the week.
Snow College is coming off a four-game, six-day road trip in Arizona during which it won all four games against Central Arizona College, Arizona Western Community College, Eastern Arizona College, and Yavapai College. With the victories, the Badgers have improved to 6-0 and have climbed to seventh in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Rankings.
As a team, the Badgers shot 50 percent or better from the field in all four games in Arizona, including shooting 61 percent against both CAC and Arizona Western. Snow College is shooting 55 percent from the field as a team during the season and has shot over 50 percent in five of its six games. The shooting percentage is good enough to slot the Badgers fifth overall in the nation.
The Badgers' hot shooting has also translated from behind the 3-point line. As a team, they are shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc, which is good enough to slot them in 10
th overall in the country. They have shot 44 percent or better from 3-point range in three of six games this season including shooting 14-22(.636) in their 94-70 victory against AWC.
Isaac Garrett(22p, 11r) and
Isaac Finlinson(11p, 10r) each recorded a double-double against EAC. They are the first pair of teammates to record a double-double in the same game since Hayden Franson and Chase Potter did so in a game against Mesa Community College Dec. 12, 2022.
Coleman Ford dished out 10 assists in the Badgers' 94-75 victory against CAC. This is a career-high for Ford and also the first time a Badger has recorded at least 10 assists since Drake Allen had 11 in a game against Colorado Northwestern Community College Feb. 2, 2022.
The Badgers are 8-6 overall against WWCC historically but have not faced the Mustangs since Feb. 2, 2021. Snow College earned a victory in that match, 77-52, but had lost each of the previous three meetings with WWCC.
The Mustangs own a 2-3 overall record through the first two weeks of the 2024-25 regular season. They are averaging 71.6 points per game as a team on 45 percent shooting. They are coming off a 91-65 defeat against North Idaho College last Saturday.
