Badgers Tame Lions, Earn Second Consecutive Shutout Victory

With eight total quarters played during the first two games of the 2024 season, the Snow College football team has yet to surrender a single point to its opponents as it earned a 70-0 victory against Community Christian College Detroit Saturday night in Ephraim.

The Badgers were coming off a 56-0 victory in their opening game of the season against the Utah Islanders during which they gained more than 550 yards of total offense, the most they've gained in a game since the 2020 season.  Their offense would continue to hum against the Lions Saturday night.

The offense could not be stopped by the Lions' defense.  The Badgers had 10 offensive drives throughout the game and scored a touchdown on each one of them.  They accumulated 575 yards of total offense, surpassing last week's total.

Snow College received the opening kickoff and scored on its first drive of the game.  The Badgers methodically marched the ball down the field capped off by a 12-yard rushing touchdown by Adonis Tillman, giving the Badgers a 7-0 lead.

Reggie Frischknecht was on the receiving end of the next two Snow College touchdowns.  The first of which was a 31-yard pitch and catch from Donnie Smith to extend the lead.  The same duo would connect again a few minutes later, this time on a 3-yard reception.

After a 3-and-out on the Lions' next possession, the Badgers scored on the first play of the subsequent drive.  Smith found Stephen Sellers Jr., who evaded tacklers and took the 38-yard pass all the way, giving the Badgers a 28-0 edge.

Smith would notch his fourth touchdown pass of the evening when he found Matthew Smith for 16 yards and the score, extending the lead to 35-0.  The Badgers would score once more before the halftime break.  It was Drew Patterson, who punched it in on the ground from five yards out, and the Badgers would take a 42-0 lead into the half.

Snow College scored on their first drive of the third quarter, once again needing just one play.  After taking over at the Lions' 27-yard line, Matt Wilson rushed to the endzone for the touchdown.  The Badgers' longest drive of the game was a 14-play, 52-yard march down the field as Isaiah Lauofo carried the ball across the goal line for a 7-yard score.

Lauofo would record his second touchdown of the game in the early seconds of the fourth quarter.  He found a hole and rushed for 15 yards into the endzone, giving the Badgers a 63-0 advantage.

The final touchdown of the night was scored by quarterback Micah Madry.  Madry ran a quarterback keeper straight up the middle.  He turned on the burners and was able to outrun his pursuers and take the ball 36 yards for the touchdown.  Snow College would salt away the remaining minutes of the game and win 70-0.

It wasn't just the offense that did all the damage, the Badgers played incredibly stout defense all night as well.  They pushed the Lion's backward, allowing -13 rushing yards all night including four sacks for a total of 24 yards.  They surrendered just 103 yards of total offense all night.

Smith went 13-17 for 166 yards and four touchdowns.  The Badgers racked up 359 rushing yards throughout the game, 119 of which came on the legs of Lauofo.  Wilson totaled 93 yards and a touchdown on just seven carries.

Sellers Jr. led the way through the air as he had three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.  Frischknecht caught two passes, both for touchdowns, for a total of 34 yards.  Keaton Rosquist, the Badgers place kicker, knocked down all 10 of the Badgers' PATs during Saturday's game.  He is now a perfect 18-18 on point after attempts to begin the season.

Snow College will wrap up its three-game home stand next weekend against the U.S. Air Force Preparatory Academy.  Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. inside Terry Foote Stadium in Ephraim.  For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
