Women's Soccer Hosts First Home Conference Matches

OPENING KICKOFF: The Snow College women's soccer team will kickoff against North Idaho College Thursday to begin home conference play. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Snow College Soccer Complex in Ephraim, Utah.

The Badgers will continue their home stand against Pacific Northwest Christian College Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Badgers are coming off splitting last weekend's matches against No. 9 Salt Lake Community College and No. 19 Colorado Northwestern Community College. Snow College dropped the match against SLCC 2-0 before defeating CNCC 4-1.

KNOW YOUR FOE: The Badgers have yet to play the Cardinals in program history due to NIC recently rejoining the Scenic West Athletic Conference. The Cardinals program rejoined the conference July 1 2024, leaving the Northwest Athletic Conference.

NIC currently holds a 3-2-1 overall record for the 2024 season. The Cardinals are coming off of a recent 1-0 victory over Truckee Meadows Community College moving their conference record to 2-1-0. The Cardinals have also defeated PNCC 4-0 before suffering a loss to the College of Southern Idaho 3-1.

The Badgers are 2-0 against PNCC historically with both victories coming last season. Snow College had a pair of double-digit shutout victories over PNCC with victories of 12-0 and 10-0.

PNCC is currently 0-3-0 in conference play with losses to NIC, TMCC, and CSI. PNCC has been shutout in all three matches so far, losing 4-0, 2-0, and 4-0 once more.

LAST TIME OUT: The Snow College women's soccer team splits weekend matches against No. 9 Salt Lake Community College and No. 19 Colorado Northwestern Community College. The Badgers dropped the match against SLCC 2-0 Thursday followed by a 4-1 victory Saturday over CNCC.

The Badgers entered the weekend with a 4-0 overall record for the season. They were coming off a 4-2 victory over Utah State University Eastern Saturday Sept. 7.

The Bruins opened the scoring for Thursday's matchup in the eighth minute and extended their lead to two in the 40th minute. No goals were scored by either team in the second half, and SLCC earned the 2-0 victory.

Hayley Ogden turned away four SLCC shots on goal while the Badgers took two shots on goal, both being saved by the Bruins' goalkeeper.

Following the loss, the Badgers turned the weekend around with a victory over CNCC. Snow College has won every matchup against the Spartans in program history.

The Badgers opened up the scoring on a goal by Bailee Ballard assisted by Liv Harding in the 15th minute. Soon after the Badger goal, the Spartans evened the game with a goal in the 22nd minute.

The Badgers didn't score again until the second half with a pair of goals in three minutes. Emily Morrill scored the first of the pair in the 67th minute on a pass by Brooklyn Bradley. The second of the pair was scored by Harding in the 70th minute unassisted.

Ally Johnson extended the Badgers' lead to three in the 90th minute as she beat the keeper to find the back of the net. The Badgers recorded 26 shots while limiting the Spartans to three shots throughout the match.

Ogden tallied one save against the Spartans moving her season save total to 11. The Badgers now hold a 5-1-0 overall record for the 2024 season.

UP NEXT: The Badgers will continue their home stand Thursday Sept. 26 against TMCC at 1 p.m. in Ephraim, Utah. Following Thursday's match, Snow College will kickoff against CSI Saturday Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Snow College Soccer Complex.
