Women's Soccer Takes on Cougars, Eagles

 
OPENING KICKOFF: The Snow College women's soccer team will kickoff its first home game of the season Wednesday at 12 p.m. against Western Nebraska Community College at the Snow College Soccer Complex. 
 
The Badgers will play Utah State University Eastern Saturday at 1 p.m. at Castleview Hospital Soccer Field for their first Scenic West Athletic Conference game of the season. 
 
The Badgers are 2-0 with victories over Mohave Community College and Yavapai College during the Roughrider Showcase that occurred Aug. 23-24.  With the victories, the Badgers have entered the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Top-20 Rankings, and are slotted 16th in the nation.
 
KNOW YOUR FOE: Snow College is 2-0-0 against WNCC historically with a 9-0 victory and 10-0 victory over the Cougars. This is the first matchup since 2018 between the two teams.
 
WNCC currently holds a 0-3-0 record after facing USUE, Northwest College, and Indian Hills Community College.
 
The Badgers have an overall record of 17-2-4 all time against the Eagles. When playing on the road in Price, Utah, the Badgers are 6-2-2. Saturday's matchup will be the first SWAC game of the season for both teams.
 
The Eagles are 2-0-1 to begin the 2024 season. Their lone tie came against No. 20 Casper College Aug. 23.
 
WNCC and USUE faced off against each other earlier this year with the Eagles taking a 3-0 victory over the Cougars.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Snow College women's soccer team earned its first two victories of the season against Mohave Community College (6-1) and Yavapai College (3-0) over the weekend in Prescott, Arizona. 
 
The Badgers started the scoring in the 28th minute.  Brooklyn Bradley fed a pass to Liv Harding who found the back of the net to give Snow College a 1-0 lead.  Harding struck again in the early minutes of the second quarter off a pass from Daisha Wagner.
 
Emily Morrill scored just a few minutes later in the 54th minute to extend the Badgers lead. Liv Harding was on the helping end of the Badgers' fourth goal of the game as she assisted Madi Thurgood to give the Badgers a 4-0 advantage.
 
Following the first and only goal of the game from MCC, Tyler Eastman scored a pair of goals in quick succession.  She scored the first goal in the 78th minute off an assist by Ally Johnson and the second came in the 82nd minute off a pass from Emily Noorda.  The Badgers went on to win, 6-1.
 
Snow College turned around the following day and secured a 3-0 victory against Yavapai.  The Badgers once again scored a single goal in the opening period.  Bailee Ballard gave the Badgers the lead with a goal in the 19th minute on a pass from Megan Hanson.
 
Hadley Leonard gave the Badgers a 2-0 advantage early in the second quarter in the 48th minute.  Harding scored the final goal of the game in the 67th minute as Ballard provided the helper this time to give the Badgers a 3-0 victory.
 
Snow College will play its first home game of the season as it takes on Western Nebraska Community College Wednesday, Sept. 4 in Ephraim.  Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the Snow College Soccer Complex.  
 
UP NEXT: The Badgers will continue SWAC play against No. 5 Salt Lake Community College Sept. 12 at Bruin Soccer Field. The matchup is scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m.
 
Snow College is 10-10-6 against SLCC in program history. The Badgers have a 2-7-2 record when playing at SLCC. The Badgers are currently on a two-game losing streak against the Bruins. SLCC currently holds a record of 2-0-0 and will begin their conference schedule Saturday against Colorado Northwestern Community College.
