The Badgers kicked off their first home game with a 5-1 victory over Western Nebraska Community College Wednesday.

Snow College started the scoring for the match with a goal from Miles McMullin with an assist from Jack Cook in the 15th minute. The Cougars evened up the game with a goal of their own in the 32nd minute, forcing the half to end tied.

The Cougars received two red cards in the second half, which resulted in the Badgers playing 11 against nine for the last 20 minutes of the game.

Quickly after the two Cougar red cards, Luis Pantoja netted an unassisted goal in the 71st minute for the go-ahead goal. Soon after in the 76th minute, Aidan Moore scored his own unassisted goal against the Cougars, extending the lead to 3-1.

Nine minutes later, the Badgers scored again with Nefthaly Loya in the 85th minute on a pass from Ryan Taylor. The Badgers found the back of the net for the fifth and final time in the 90th minute on a goal by Jeffrey Smith, assisted by Alex Horton.

Sam Banfi allowed only one goal and stopped three Cougar shots on goal.  Banfi has turned away a total of six shots on goal this season and earned his second win of the season.

The Badgers out shot the Cougars 15-7 in the game. The Badgers shot five times in the first half and took 10 shots in the second, while limiting the Cougars to three shots in the first and four in the second.
