Coleman Ford of the Snow College men's basketball team has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This is the first time Ford has received the award.
 
Ford was an integral part of the Badgers securing two victories against North Idaho College and the College of Southern Idaho last weekend. He scored a career-high 17 points in the Badgers' 88-81 victory against NIC Thursday. Ford followed up his career night by scoring 25 points on 9-12 shooting, including going 5-6 from beyond the 3-point arc in the victory against CSI.
 
Ford, a sophomore from Provo, Utah, has played in all 20 games for the Badgers this season. He averages 7.1 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the field and nearly 41 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Ford leads the team in assists per game at 4.2. He has recorded 10 or more assists in two games this season including a 13-assist performance in the Badgers' 112-48 victory against Central Wyoming College Dec. 4.
 
No. 1 Snow College has won 12 straight games and owns a 19-1 overall record. The Badgers sit atop the conference standings with a 5-0 mark. They will look to continue their streak against Utah State University Eastern Thursday at 7:00 p.m. inside the Horne Activity Center.
