The No. 14 Snow College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw Friday against Utah State University Eastern in Price, Utah, marking their third draw in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
In the matchup, the Badgers finished with four shots, including one on goal, while the Eagles recorded eight shots with four on target. The first half remained scoreless until USUE found the net just before halftime in the 45th minute.
In the second half, the pace picked up. In the 54th minute, Saige Meryhew had a promising opportunity on goal, but her shot hit the post.
In the 74th minute, the Badgers goal came off a counterattack following an Eagles corner kick. The Badgers quickly gained possession and converted it into a goal as Madi Thurgood found the back of the net. Almost immediately after scoring, Daisy Williams was put to the test and made a crucial save. Williams finished the match with three saves overall.
The final score was 1-1. The Badgers now hold an overall record of 6-2-3, with a 4-1-3 mark in SWAC play.
Snow College will face Colorado Northwestern Community College Thursday in Rangely, Colorado, at 1:00 p.m. The Spartans are coming off a 3-0 loss against North Idaho College and will face No. 4 Salt Lake Community College Saturday prior to Thursday's match. The Spartans hold a 5-5-0 overall record, including a 3-4-0 mark in conference play. In their previous matchup this season, Snow College defeated CNCC 4-0.
