Men's Basketball Curbs Roughriders in 117-64 Victory

The Snow College men's basketball team cruised to a 117-64 victory against Yavapai College Monday in Ephraim. Six Badgers scored in double figures as the team secured its fifth victory to begin the 2025-26 season.

The Badgers entered their home opener with a 4-0 overall record after earning two victories last weekend at the Region 1/Region 18 Challenge. They defeated No. 15 Eastern Arizona College 102-90 and Arizona Western College 82-68 during the tournament.

Snow College got out to a hot start to begin the game. Consecutive 3-pointers from McCaden Adams and Keagan Caton gave the Badgers a 14-3 lead six minutes into action.

The Badgers began to catch fire from beyond the arc midway through the opening period. Brock McClure hit a pair of triples before Sam Sivulich made three long balls and scored 11 points in a four-minute stretch to push the lead to 43-26.

Caton hit two more 3-pointers in the final 90 seconds of the first half as layups from Blake Bahr and McClure capped a 10-0 run to give the Badgers a 56-31 lead at the halftime break.

As a team, the Badgers shot 10-14 from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes of the game. Overall, they shot 67 percent from the field and assisted on more than half of their made field goals.

Yavapai trimmed the deficit to 19 in the early minutes of the second half, but the lead would never shrink below 20 again. The Badgers immediately went on an 11-2 run to stretch the lead to 28 points.

The Badgers continued to pound the paint with emphatic dunks from Sean Felts and Aaron Bliss, giving them a 90-50 lead with under nine minutes to play. Snow College recorded 58 points in the paint throughout the night.

Their strong inside presence, coupled with their hot shooting – the Badgers shot 72 percent from the field in the second half – Snow College went on to earn the 117-64 wire-to-wire victory.

Six Badgers scored in double figures, led by Adams, who finished with 23 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Caton put in a career-high 21 points on a perfect shooting night and grabbed six boards.

McClure tallied 16 points and five rebounds while Sivulich ended with 13 points and dished seven assists. Felts and Bliss mirrored each other and both finished with 11 points and six rebounds in the victory.

Snow College will remain in Ephraim this weekend as the Badgers host Central Arizona Friday and No. 11 Indian Hills Community College Saturday for the Snow College Classic. Friday's matchup is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., with Saturday's game slated to tip off at 3:00 p.m. All games during the tournament will take place inside the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim.
