Men's Basketball Takes Down Trappers, Improve to 8-0

The Snow College men's basketball team improved to 8-0 to begin the 2025-26 season after defeating Northwest College 79-67 last weekend in Powell, Wyoming.

The Badgers entered the standalone game against the Trappers following a 13-day hiatus since their last game. They earned a pair of victories against Central Arizona College and No. 11 Indian Hills Community College at the Snow College Classic.

Northwest took early control after racing out to a 6-0 lead. The Badgers didn't score their first points until nearly three minutes had elapsed. They would go on a 9-3 run to tie the game at nine.

A few minutes later, Snow College used a 10-0 run to take a 19-12 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the opening period. The Trappers stopped the bleeding and regained the advantage less than five minutes later.

The lead teeter-tottered over the final eight minutes of the period. There were a total of three lead changes and four ties before Snow College took a 39-38 lead into the halftime break.

The Badgers built up a seven-point lead in the opening minutes of the second half after McCaden Adams drilled consecutive 3-pointers. They would never surrender the lead throughout the remainder of the game.

After Snow College took an eight-point lead, the Trappers cut the deficit down to just three midway through the period. The Badgers proceeded to use a 12-0 run to take a 69-54 lead with five minutes left in the game. The Badgers led by as many as 16 in the second half before securing a 79-67 victory.

Three Badgers scored in double figures, led by Brock McClure, who led all scorers with 16 points. He also recorded a career-high 14 rebounds to tally his sixth career double-double. Adams added 14 points and four rebounds while Aaron Bliss added 11 points in the win.

Snow College will now head to Levelland, Texas, to participate in the Texan Classic. They will face a trio of opponents beginning with No. 12 South Plains College Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

They'll play Lamar Community College Friday at 2:00 p.m. before wrapping up the tournament against Hill College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
