The Snow College football team concluded its 2025 season with a 38-24 defeat against No. 10 Iowa Central Community College in the Game One Bowl Sunday in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Badgers now conclude the season with a 6-5 overall record.
Â
The Badgers struck first with a touchdown on their second possession. The drive started at the ICCC 46-yard line.
Matt Wilson gained 42 yards on the first play to set up 1
st-and-goal. Wilson punched it in three plays later to give the Badgers a 7-0 edge.
Â
ICCC leveled the score in the early minutes of the second quarter. It was set up by a 24-yard pass, which set the Tritons up at the Snow College 3-yard line. They scored on the next play to tie the game at seven.
Â
The Tritons maintained the momentum as the Badgers coughed up the football on the very next offensive play. ICCC recovered the football and scored immediately to take a 14-7 advantage.
Â
Both teams exchanged interceptions before the Badgers cut into the deficit. Despite not gaining a first down on the possession, their good field position allowed
Joseph Brandt to split the uprights from 32 yards out to bring the score to 14-10.
Â
The next three possessions all resulted in turnovers, and the Badgers took over at their own 20-yard line with three minutes to play in the first half. They marched the ball down the field over the next two minutes to score a touchdown as
Quezon Villa hauled in an 8-yard pass from
Jace Welsch to give Snow College a 17-14 lead.
Â
The Tritons capitalized on the time remaining in the second quarter as they were able to convert a 41-yard field goal to even the score at 17 heading into the halftime break.
Â
Neither side was able to gain any offensive traction in the third quarter. The Badgers broke the tie early in the fourth quarter as Wilson recorded his second rushing touchdown of the game, giving the Badgers a 24-17 lead.
Â
On the next possession, the Badgers forced the Tritons to punt after a 15-yard sack from
Tayson Reid. However, on the punt, the Badgers committed a roughing the kicker penalty, which gave the Tritons a fresh set of downs.
Â
ICCC took advantage of the gaffe and proceeded to score on a five-yard rushing touchdown. The Badgers took over with six minutes to play but were forced to punt after gaining just one first down.
Â
On second down of the Tritons' possession, the Badgers had ICCC quarterback Damarcus Creecy wrapped up for a sack. Just before falling to the ground, Creecy pitched the ball to his running back, who took the pitch 77 yards for a touchdown and a 31-24 lead.
Â
Needing a touchdown to tie the game, the Badgers turned the ball over. ICCC connected on a 74-yard pass play for a touchdown to take a commanding 14-point lead. They would hold on to the 38-24 victory.
Â
The Badgers surrendered 548 yards of total offense for the first time since the 2020 national title game against Hutchinson College. Conversely, the Badgers gained 306 yards of total offense while committing five turnovers for the second time this season.
Â
Snow College concludes the season with a 6-5 overall record. It's the most losses the Badgers have suffered since the 2013 season, when they went 5-6. Snow College will look forward to next season – its first as a member of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.
