Finlinson Named Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Year

Garrett, Brown Jr., Trujillo Named to All-Conference Teams

Four members of the Snow College men's basketball team have received Scenic West Athletic Conference awards led by Isaac Finlinson, who was named the Player of the Year. Finlinson received 68 of a possible 70 points, which includes four of five first-place votes.
 
Isaac Garrett was named to the All-Conference First Team, while Mark Brown Jr. and Chance Trujillo received All-Conference Second Team honors.
 
Finlinson, a sophomore from St. George, Utah, averages 19.1 points per game, which leads the Badgers and ranks third overall in the SWAC. He also is tied with his teammate Garrett with 6.6 rebounds per game, which is tied for fourth in the conference.
 
Finlinson has scored in double figures in 29 of the Badgers' 32 games this season. He has recorded 20 points or more in 14 contests, including three games of 30 or more. He recorded 35 points and eight assists – both career highs – in a 120-78 victory against Utah State University Eastern Jan. 23.
 
Finlinson, who was a five-time recipient of the SWAC Player of the Week award, played an integral role in the Badgers' winning their fourth Region 18 Tournament Championship last weekend. Between the two games, he recorded 45 points, 19 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks, and he was named to the all-tournament team.
 
Finlinson has started in 30 of 32 games for the Badgers this season. He has recorded a .524 shooting percentage while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc this season. He has made a total of 205 field goals this season, which is tied for fifth most all time for the Badgers.
 
For his career, Finlinson is averaging 16.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He is a career 52 percent shooter from the field, including 40 percent from range. He has made 200 free throws in his two seasons in a Badger uniform, which places him fifth all time in program history.
 
Garrett, a sophomore from Pleasant Grove, Utah, has played in 30 games this season, including 29 starts. He is averaging 14.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He has scored in double figures in 21 games for the Badgers this season.
 
Garrett recorded back-to-back double-doubles at the Financial Partners Classic earlier this season. He scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Badgers' 93-88 victory against No. 5 Indian Hills Community College Dec. 13. He then recorded 32 points and 11 boards in a 115-58 win against Lake Region State College Dec. 14.
 
Garrett, who was named the SWAC Player of the Week three times throughout the season,  scored 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished six assists, and had two steals during the Region 18 Tournament last weekend and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
Brown Jr., a sophomore from Phoenix, Arizona, has appeared in all 32 games for the Badgers and is averaging 13.6 points and 4.4 assists per game this season. He has scored in double figures in 27 games during the 2024-25 campaign.
 
Brown Jr. scored a career-high 34 points in the Badgers' victory against No. 9 Odessa College Nov. 22. He made 16 free throws against the Wranglers, which is fifth most in a game in program history. Following his strong performance, he was named the SWAC Player of the Week.
 
Brown Jr. has recorded two double-doubles this season, none bigger than the 20-point 12-assist performance he had in the Region 18 Title Game against the College of Southern Idaho. Brown Jr. also recorded 20 points and six assists in the first round of the tournament – an 87-84 victory against Salt Lake Community College. Brown Jr. was named the Region 18 Tournament Most Valuable Player following the Badgers' win over the Golden Eagles.
 
Trujillo, a freshman from Kaysville, Utah, has played in all 32 games for the Badgers this season. He averages 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. He is shooting at a 46 percent clip this season, including 44 percent from beyond the arc, which is second on the team and fourth in the conference among qualifiers.
 
He has scored in double figures in 19 games so far this season, including two occasions with 20 points or more. Trujillo recorded a career-high 23 points in a 94-70 victory against Arizona Western College Nov. 8.
 
Trujillo has made 79 3-pointers this season for the Badgers, which leads the team and is second overall in the conference. He has made three or more triples in 13 games this season and made at least one 3-pointer in all but two games he's played this year.
 
Snow College will look to punch its ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament in the West District Championship as the Badgers take on No. 17 Eastern Arizona College Saturday at 7:00 p.m. inside the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim.
