Badgers' Season Ends on Buzzer-Beating Heartbreaker

The Snow College men's basketball team suffered a 63-62 loss to Connors State College in the second round of the NJCAA National Tournament Monday. The loss ended the season for the Badgers.

The Badgers entered the tournament as the top-seeded team and faced the 17-seeded Cowboys after receiving a bye into the second round. CSC entered the matchup after finishing the season with a 29-3 overall record.

Snow College opened up a nine-point lead midway through the period before the offense went cold. The Badgers scored just six points over the final 10 minutes of the first half and were outscored by 20-6 over that stretch.

The Badgers trailed by as many as eight points in the second half, but a 13-2 run gave them a three-point lead with eight minutes to play. Snow College eventually trailed 59-55 with under four minutes to play, but a 7-1 run capped off by a pair of free throws from Mark Brown Jr. (So./South Phoenix, Arizona/Bella Vista Prep) with 5.4 seconds to play gave the Badgers a 62-60 lead.

The Cowboys entered the ball to guard DJ Dormu, who went the length of the court and fired a 40-foot 3-pointer as time expired. The shot was true, giving them the one-point victory and ending the Badgers' season.

Chance Trujillo (Fr./Kaysville, Utah/Davis HS) finished with 15 points to lead the Badgers in scoring. McCaden Adams (Fr./Pleasant Grove, Utah/Pleasant Grove HS) recorded 12 points in the loss.
