The Snow College volleyball team suffered four losses at the Battle of the Beach Tournament last weekend in Fort Myers, Florida. The Badgers faced two of the top 15 teams, including the reigning national champions, at the two-day event.

Snow College began the tournament against Eastern Florida State College and suffered a narrow 3-2 loss. The Badgers were defeated 25-21 and 25-22 in the first two sets, but found their stride beginning with set three.

The Badgers trailed 17-12 midway through set three, but eventually rallied to take a 25-24 lead. They won the set 25-27 and maintained the momentum throughout set four. After taking a 10-7 lead, Snow College never looked back and won 25-23 to force a fifth set. It wasn't to be, however, and the Badgers suffered a 15-11 loss in set five.

Snow College turned around to face No. 15 Daytona State College. Despite three close sets, all of which finished with a 25-23 score, the Badgers were swept by the Falcons.

The Badgers took on No. 1 Florida Southwestern State College to begin day two of the tournament. The Buccaneers, the defending national champions, showed they are deserving of the top-ranked team in the country, as Snow College lost in three sets.

The Badgers won the first set of their final matchup of the Tournament against Hillsborough College. Despite the 25-19 win, Snow College dropped each of the remaining sets to suffer the 3-1 loss.

Aleah McDaniel led the team offensively with 41 kills over the weekend, while
Cami Christiansen recorded 30 kills.
Ema Thompson led the team with 69 assists, and
Sydney Short tallied 52 assists.
Avery Fowler led the team in digs with 47 and service aces with 10.

The Badgers will turn their attention to the LCCC Invitational, where they will face four different opponents. They'll kick off the tournament against Central Arizona College Friday at 9:00 a.m. before a meeting with Ranger College at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, they will face Northeastern Junior College at 8:00 a.m. as well as Laramie County Community College at 2:00 p.m. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
