Badgers Swept by No. 19 SLCC in Penultimate Series

The Snow College softball team suffered a sweep in its penultimate series against No. 19 Salt Lake Community College in Ephraim. 

The Badgers are coming off their final road series of the 2026 season, where they suffered a sweep against No. 25 CSI. 

SLCC got the scoring started in the top of the first with two runs. The floodgates opened from there as the Bruins put up seven more runs while keeping the Badgers off the board to take game one, 9-0 after five innings. 

Game two had SLCC score first with three runs in the top of the second, before Nev Carrasquel got the Badgers' first run of the series by stealing home as part of an attempted double steal in the bottom of the second. Brooke Fisher followed it up with a three-run blast to right center for the 4-3 lead. 

SLCC responded in the top of the third with a pair of runs to retake the lead. Zeyda Olvera singled to left field for the Badgers in the bottom of the third to knot the game at five apiece. SLCC would score two runs across the fourth and sixth innings to take game two, 7-5.  

Game three saw the Bruins open the scoring in the top of the third with a pair of runs. SLCC added seven more runs over the next three innings for the 9-0 win after six. 

The final game of the series was a pitcher's duel as the Badgers were held to four hits in the first four innings. Taimane Laolagi-Aloy held up the Badgers' end of the duel as she pitched 4 ⅓ hitless innings before the Bruins collected their first hit and run of the game in the top of the fifth. SLCC tacked on two more in the fifth before adding one more in the seventh for a 4-0 Bruin win. 

Fisher led the Badgers offensively, going 3-11 from the batter's box with a home run, three RBIs, and a walk. Gigi Hall joined her, also going 3-11 from the plate.

Snow College will play its final home series of the 2026 regular season at home inside the Snow College Softball Complex, May 7 and 8. Game one is slated for 1:00 p.m. Day two is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
