Volleyball competes in LCCC Invitational

OPENING SERVE: The No. 8 Snow College women's volleyball team will head to Cheyenne Wyoming, this weekend to compete in the Laramie County Community College Invitational.

The Badgers will face four ranked opponents over the course of the two-day event, including No. 16 Colby Community College Friday at 9:00 a.m., before taking on No. 3 Northeastern Junior College at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, the Badgers will face No. 16 New Mexico Military Institute at 11:00 a.m. and will close out the invitational against No. 11 Casper College at 3:00 p.m.

Coming off the Scooters Invitational, the Badgers enter the weekend with a 3-1 record from their previous tournament, sweeping three opponents and falling to one.

KNOW YOUR FOE: The Badgers hold an overall record of 4-1 against Colby Community College, with the most recent matchup taking place in 2021 and resulting in a 3-0 sweep by Snow College. Colby has a 3-1 record to begin the 2026 season, and averages 13 kills and 19 digs per set.

Snow College holds a record of 9-4 against NJC. The teams met last season in November, with NJC earning a 3-1 victory in the second round of the national tournament. The Badgers won the opening set but couldn't keep up in the following three.NJC enters the weekend with a 3-1 record, averaging 17 digs and 12 kills per set.

The Badgers hold a record of 3-5 over the last eight matchups with NMMI. The last time the teams met was in 2024, when the Badgers lost 3-0. The Broncos are 2-2 this year and are averaging 11 kills and 12 digs per set.

Snow College holds a record of 9-1 over the last 10 matchups against Casper College. The last time the teams met was in 2021, when the Badgers swept the Thunderbirds 3-0. Casper is 2-2 so far this season, averaging 11 kills per set and 17 digs.

LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers went 3-1 at the Scooter's Invitational last weekend, sweeping Northwest College, Garden City Community College and Pratt Community College, while falling to No. 14 Frank Phillips College. Assist leader Lily Grant recorded 103 assists across the tournament. 

Against Northwest College, the Badgers recorded eight blocks compared to five for the Trappers. Aleah McDaniel, Hallie Layston and Emily Kension each finished with seven kills. Britani Stone led Snow College with 10 digs, followed by Grant and Saidey Spencer with eight each.

Against FPC, Stone tallying 19 digs. McDaniel also leveled up her stats against FPC, recording an 18-kill, 10-dig double-double. Madelyn Neibaur earned six blocks against FPC.

UP NEXT: The Badgers will head to Twin Falls, Idaho, to compete in the Starr Corporation Invitational Sept. 4-5, where they will go head-to-head against Treasure Valley Community College, Western Nebraska Community College and Central Wyoming College.
