Snow College men's basketball Head Coach Brad Kitchen has announced his coaching staff for the 2026-27 season. He will be joined by Ethan Kahn and Carter Sonneborn.
 
Kahn is entering his second season with the Badgers. In 2025-26, he helped Snow to a 29-5 record, while posting a 12-3 record in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. Snow College was able to earn an at-large bid to the NJCAA National tournament, where it won a first-round game against Trinidad State.
 
Kahn helped maintain the culture of academic success by leading the team to the highest GPA in NJCAA men's basketball for the 2025-26 season, at 3.67.  
 
Kahn was previously at NCAA DII Catawba College, where he served as an assistant for the men's basketball team during the 2024-25 season. He was also with the team from 2021 to 2023, where he served as director of basketball operations/video coordinator. During his overall tenure at Catawba helped the team win a South Atlantic Conference Championship and reach the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament in two of his three years.
 
Kahn spent the 2023-24 campaign at Bemidji State University as the assistant men's basketball coach. He was an integral part of the defensive improvements and guard play of the team.
 
Kahn began his coaching career at Northern Arizona University, where he served as a student assistant for four years while also being the head student assistant for three seasons.
 
During his time at NAU, Kahn was responsible for video operations, maintaining stats for practice, food ordering, practice setup, equipment, the nutrition station, scout presentations, and day-to-day operations. He also helped organize and run camps. 
 
Coach Kahn graduated from Northern Arizona University with a major in University Studies with double minors in Political Science and Health Wellness. While at Catawba, Kahn obtained his master's degree in sport management.

I have a tremendous amount of confidence in Coach Kitchen and the direction he is going to take this program. I'm excited to join his staff and keep this momentum going!" 
  
"I am really excited to keep Ethan on board for the coming year," Kitchen said. "He is hard-working and has an exceptional eye for talent. He is great at building relationships with our players and knows how to get things done. He is a student of the game and brings a wealth of knowledge in the sport that will help us be as competitive as ever. We are excited to have him continue to be a part of our Badger family." Sonneborn comes to Snow College from the University of Portland, where he served as a graduate assistant for Coach Shantay Legans for the men's basketball team. From 2024-26, he was heavily involved in player development, working with First Team All-West Coast Conference selection Joel Foxwell and Second Team All-WCC selection Max Mackinnon.
 
He was also part of the coaching staff that helped lead Portland to one of the most historic wins in program history—defeating Gonzaga for the program's first-ever victory over an AP Top-10 opponent while snapping a 20-game losing streak in the rivalry. He earned his MBA and a graduate certificate in Sports Business.
 
"My basketball journey has been built around a lifelong passion for the game," Sonneborn said. "Growing up, I had the unique opportunity to be coached by NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton throughout my childhood, which shaped my understanding of the game, leadership, and the value of hard work."
 
Before his time in Portland, he spent time at Gonzaga University, where he worked as an intern/practice player under Head Coach Lisa Fortier. There he earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. He was a walk-on player at Washington State University before transferring to Whitworth University.
 
Carter prepped at Gonzaga Prep, where he helped lead the Bullpups to back-to-back Washington State Championships in 2018 and 2019.
 
"Carter is a young, hungry individual who wants to compete at the highest level." Coach Kitchen said. "He has been a part of some of the highest-level programs that college basketball has to offer, and I am confident that he can share that insight with our program to make us even better. He is talented, well-connected, and will be an invaluable asset to our coaching staff and this program. We are excited to welcome Coach Sonneborn to the Badger family."
