Snow College Athletics

The Snow College men's soccer team traveled to Rangely, Colorado to play Colorado Northwestern Community College last Saturday. The Badgers defeated CNCC 8-0 to kick off Scenic West Athletic Conference games.

The game started off slow for both teams not scoring in the first 30 minutes, shortly after Snow College found the first goal of the game in the 31st minute, Isaac Stanley found Josh Kilsby for the goal. In the 41st minute, the Badgers found the net right before half time with Cody Adams passing to Stanley for the goal, bringing the score to 2-0.

At half time the Badgers led CNCC in shots 12-0, including a 7-0 advantage on shots on target. The second half looked a lot like the first, the only difference was Snow College found the back of the six more times.

The Badgers received a penalty kick in the 52nd, Kade Davis found the back of the net putting the score 3-0. In the 60th, Josh Kilsby found Felix Biederman to take a 4-0 lead. Then Biederman found the back of the net again in the 62nd, receiving a pass from Jorge Beltran, and the Badgers led 5-0. 

Gabe Newman scored a natural hat trick, scoring in the 75th with a pass from Liam Kilbane, then scoring again off a penalty kick in the 76th.

Newman recorded the Badgers' final goal of the game came in the 88th, with a strike assisted by Alex Guillory. The Badgers led CNCC in shots 24-1, while not surrendering a single shot on goal.

The Badgers will return home to play in-state foes, No. 5  Salt Lake Community College  Thursday at 3:30 p.m.. Snow College will face No.12 Utah State Eastern University Saturday, also at 3:30. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
