Julia Smith began her first season at Snow College in 2020-2021 after previously serving as the head volleyball coach at Springville High School from 2014-2016.
Over her three seasons as the head coach at SHS, Smith led the Red Devils to the 4A UHSAA semi-finals, marking the team's first trip to the Final Four in 10 seasons. In 2015, she led SHS to a Region 8 Championship with an undefeated record. During the 2015 season, Springville also posted a team grade-point average of 3.9. During her tenure with the Red Devils, she helped coach three different players who earned scholarships to four-year programs.
Prior to taking over the program at Springville High, Smith served as an assistant coach at Timpview High School in Provo, Utah where the T-Birds won back-to-back state titles in 2013 and 2014.
Smith played collegiately at Texas A&M where she played right side for the Aggies. As a member of the A&M volleyball program from 1999-2002, Smith helped the Aggies to the NCAA National Tournament all four seasons, including the Elite Eight in 1999 and 2001, and the second round in 2000 and 2002.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from Texas A&M and a master’s of educational leadership from Brigham Young University. Smith and her husband, Aaron, have four children and reside in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
