PHOENIX - The Western States Football League (WSFL) released its All-Conference teams with Snow College (10-1, 8-0) leading the way following its conference championship.
Headling the award winners are
Breon Allen (RB) and
Ofa Hautau (DT). Allen was selected as the WSFL's Offensive Player of the Year following his record-breaking season for the Badgers in which he became the school's all-time leading rusher as well as its record holder for most yards in a season and most rushing touchdowns. Allen has rushed for 2,380 yards in his career at Snow while picking up 1,609 yards this season including 19 rushing TD's and 3 receiving TD's.
Hautau was selected as the WSFL's Defensive Player of the Year while dominating along the interior defensive line for Snow College. Hautau was the unanimous selection for Player of the Year as his incredible play was noticed by all opponents in 2012. Hautau finsihed the season with 37 tackles, 5 sacks and 11 tackles-for-loss. In addition, Hautau paved the way for on the most dominant defenses in the NJCAA. The Badger defense leads the nation in sacks and forced turnovers with Hautau anchoring the middle of the line.
For Allen's and Hautau's efforts, they were also recognized as 1st Team WSFL performers as well. They were joined by a number of standout performers at Snow College this season.
Offensively,
Damond Powell (WR),
Justin Manu (OL) and EJ Pauni (OL) joined the first team. Powell led the team 1,081 receiving yards while leading the nation in yards per reception. Manu, a two-year starter at right tackle, and Pauni paved the way for one of the nation's top offenses which averaged nearly 500 yards per game.
Christian Stewart, the Badgers excellent quarterback, was voted to the league's second team after throwing for 2,598 yards and 34 touchdowns.
Defensively,
Jake Miller (DL),
Thomas Bryson (DL),
Nik Wolford (LB) and
Kapena Clark (DB) were recognized on the 1st Team as well. Miller led the team in sacks with 12 while Bryson was second on the team with 7 while also blocking two kicks in 2012. Wolford, a team captain, finished second on the team in tackles with 65 stops while Clark tallied 75 tackles and 3 interceptions on their way to 1st Team recognition.
The Badgers picked up two more first-teamers with
Chris Van Orden (P) and
Spencer Groner (K) being voted on the team. Van Orden leads the nation in punting while Groner connected on 9 field goals and 68 PAT's this season.
Head Football Coach, Tyler Hughes, was also recongzied by the conference as the WSFL Coach of the Year. Hughes, in his second season at the helm, led Snow to a 10-1 record and a 8-0 conference record which gave the Badgers their first outright WSFL Conference Title since 2008.
"I'm proud of our kids. They worked for everything and have earned these awards. The great thing about these guys is that all of them would defer an individual award for team success. It's been great to be a part of their lives and season," offered Hughes following the all-league announcements.

Snow will finanlize the 2012 season on December 1st when they play #3 ASA College in the Carrier Dome Bowl in Syracuse, NY. The game time is set for 1:00 PM (EST).
