Badgers Move To 5-0, 2-0 In Conference Play

GLENDALE, ARIZ – The No. 6 ranked Snow College football team jumped off to an early 13-0 lead but needed a late touchdown to hold off No. 19 Glendale 33-29 Saturday in Arizona.

The Badgers held Glendale scoreless in the first half with less than 100 yards total offense.

Snow started the game with two field goals before running back Breon Allen scampered in from two yards to give the Badgers a 13-0 lead heading into halftime.

Glendale did not back down, trading third quarter touchdowns with the Badgers. Glendale took its first lead of the game with less than two minutes left. A two point conversion made it 29-26.

On the ensuing kickoff Snow return man Damond Powell ran 76 yards to the Glendale nine, setting up a six-yard touchdown run by Allen.

Snow split its quarterbacking duties, with starter Adam Eastman going 14-17 for 201 yards and backup Craig Harrison going 4-10 for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Allen led the Badger rushing attack with 13 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

“We know it's going to be tough anytime you come on the road for a game like this,” said Snow College head coach Tyler Hughes. “We are happy to come away with the win.”

The Badgers (5-0, 2-0 in conference play) return home for two straight weeks for games against Phoenix (Oct. 8) and Mesa (Oct. 15). Both games kickoff at noon and can be heard at www.snowbadgers.com
