Badgers Beat #20 Georgia Military

The #7 Snow College Badgers had a big win against the #16 Georgia Military College Bulldogs this Saturday at home with the final score being 30-7. This puts the Badgers record at an undefeated 2-0 for the 2011 season.
Almost immediately Snow took control of the game with a very successful 1st quarter. With only 4 minutes gone in the game Snow recovered a fumble at Georgia's own 36 yard line. The turnover led to the Badgers first touchdown by Damond Powell with 8:22 left on the clock in the 1st quarter. The field goal attempt by kicker Jon Hess was good, making the score 7-0. Snow put another 3 points on the board with a 4th down field goal on the 15 yard line.
An interception by Ra'Shaun Davis placed the ball at the 5 yard line. The Bulldogs defense pushed Snow back to the 14 yard line. While the Badgers were unable to move the ball into the end zone, a successful 4th down field goal attempt was good, making the score 13-0.
Georgia answered back by returning the following kickoff for a touchdown. The 70 yard run was made by Georgia's sophomore Adrian Wigfall. This however would be the last time the Bulldogs would make into the Badgers end zone. A successful field goal was made by kicker Chris Kennedy narrowing the score to 13-7, ending the first quarter.
Powell quickly started off the 2nd quarter with his second touchdown of the game. Georgia would later attempt a 4th down field goal, but would miss, keeping the score at 20-7.
Snows defense played a major role in the win with 1 fumble recovery and 4 interceptions which led to putting numbers on the board. In the 4th quarter, strong safety Kapena Clark intercepted a pass and returned it for 40 yards, positioning the Badgers in scoring territory. Soni Kinikini then made the final touchdown of the game.
The Badgers first home game ended in victory with a final 4th down field goal making the final score 30-7.
