Box Score EPHRAIM – The Snow College men's basketball team recorded a first round win in the Region 18 Scenic West Athletic Conference post season tournament, 81-43 over the Colorado Northwestern (CNCC) Spartans on Thursday night, but then bowed out of the tournament the following night on a 75-62 loss at the hands of the eventual champions, the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles. Friday's loss ends the Badgers' season with a record of 18-14.

On Thursday the Badgers stormed to a 38-24 halftime lead, then blew away the Spartans in the second half, outscoring their opponents 43-19. CNCC was a respectable nine for 23 (39 percent) on 3-point shots, but from inside the arc they hit only five of 24 shots (21 percent).

The Badgers had their second best game of the season holding onto the ball, committing only seven turnovers which the Spartans could convert only to one bucket. The Spartans, however, turned the ball over 22 times which led to 32 Badger points. Snow had 34 points in the paint to only six for the Spartans.

On Saturday CSI jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first three minutes of the game and Snow never got closer than eight points the rest of the way. CSI shot 46 percent from the floor (26 for 56) while Snow could manage only 36 percent (19 for 53). CSI held a 10-rebound margin in the game, pulling down 42 boards to 32 for the Badgers.

Thomas again led the Badgers in scoring, this time tallying 17 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists. Aziz Leeks was the only other Badger to score in double digits, scoring 13 and pulling down five rebounds. CSI's Abdoulaye Harouna led all scorers with 20 points.

CSI went on to beat North Idaho, 96-79, on Saturday in the Region 18 Championship game. With the win, the 28-2 eighth-ranked Golden Eagles secured a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament, but have to travel to Arizona March 7 for a district playoff to determine seeding. Snow's Walter Wright was named to the Scenic West Athletic Conference First Team. Gentrey Thomas was named to the conference Second Team, and Larenz Stalcup was named Honorable Mention.
